The 'crazier' the song the better. • Ask the tutees review audio tapes while they drive. • Tell them state the problem out loud when they are learning new information. Reason through solutions out loud. • Advise the tutee to say words in syllables. • Ask them to study skills videotapes. • If your learners want to remember facts, dates, names, etc, advise them to make up and repeat rhymes. • Make sure they read over all essential facts aloud. • Tell the tutees to join or create a study group, or to get a study partner. • To remember a sequence of steps, write them out in sentence form and then go over them loud. • Advise the learner to use mnemonics and word links. • Involve the tutee in a discussion of the material.
