Taking Tests
taking_testTest taking isn't a pleasure for anyone, but for those with test anxiety or problems with the above mentioned study skills, taking tests may be a difficulty. Here are some general test taking suggestions:

• You should prepare and study in advance. Remember cramming is not studying. The more you study and prepare ahead of time, the less anxiety you will experience.taking_test
• Ask questions about the test before studying for it. There are different kinds of tests. It can be true false, essay or a combination of these. Find out if there is a study guide. Explore if the instructor has any old tests you can look through so that you get a "feel" for the kind of test he/she administers? Use this information as a guide for studying more efficiently.
• Come for the test on time (about 5 - 10 minutes early).
• Have necessary equipment (pencils, paper, calculator, etc.) at hand.
• Be relaxed. If you can’t do it take several, slow, deep breaths. Do not speak to other students before the test.
• Always read directions carefully.
